Find out more about skill profiles
The Skills Profile is an assessment carried out by specialist teachers and assessors which enables parents and the school to gain a more detailed understanding of the child’s strengths and weaknesses. The resulting profile enables the assessor to create a programme of bespoke support and provide other recommendations.
A Skills Profile is often appropriate for younger learners and when the initial online screener shows a mild to moderate risk. The assessment usually takes about 1.5 hours to carry out. The assessment includes an overview of the student’s underlying abilities, spelling, single-word reading, reading speed/ fluency, writing, processing speed and phonological awareness.
All assessments include a pre and post assessment consultation. These can be arranged either face to face or over the phone.
All Blue Sky assessors are fully insured and qualified to carry out assessments. Information on all of our assessors can be found on our find an Assessor page under the Assessments tab. You can contact any assessor through the site. They will be happy to provide a free consultation to discuss any difficulties either you or your child are having.
We are here to help you. If you have not taken the online screener, please follow one of the links below for the child or adult screener.
